Return

Caller ID
This allows you to see the telephone number of the person calling you before you pick-up. You must have a caller ID box or a telephone with a display capable to displaying the number. State Telephone has these available for sale in our business office or you may purchase your own. Should you purchase your own phone or caller ID box you must still State Telephone activate the caller ID feature on the box.

Return

Caller ID Block
This is a feature that blocks your number from being displayed on the caller ID of the person of the calling you.

Return

Call Waiting
Allows you to answer a second call that is incoming on your line while already on the phone. A tone will signal an incoming call. Depress the hookswitch (or press "Flash") to be connected to the new call. The original call is placed on hold. You can switch back to the original call by depressing the hookswitch again (or pressing "Flash".)

Return

Speed Dialing
Allows you store telephone numbers and dial them by pushing one number. Eliminates the need to fully dial frequently called numbers or to remember infrequently called numbers.

Return

Conference Call
Allows you to add other parties to your call. Depress and hold the hookswitch (or "Flash") to put the first original call on hold; wait for a steady dial-tone, then dial the party you wish to add. You either talk privately with this person while the original is on hold, or depress the hookswitch (or "Flash") to establish the conference call. The call is completed when the original caller hangs up.

Return

Call Forwarding
Allows you to forward an incoming call to another number. The number may be any number that you desire. If you want your incoming calls forwarded to a number that is a toll call, then the forwarded call will be billed as a toll call.

Return

Call Forward on Busy
This allows an incoming call to be forwarded to a pre-determined number whenever the line is busy. This is especially useful for people with computers who don't want to miss calls while they are on the internet.
*** Call Waiting and Call Forward on Busy cannot work together ***

Return

Toll Restrict
Allows the restriction of all toll calls to numbers outside the 518 area code. Toll restrict with pin# allows toll calls to numbers outside of 518 only when a correct pin# is entered.

Return

Call Return
Better know as *69 this is a feature which allows you to call back the number of the person who called you. If the return call line is busy, it will continue dialing the number for 30 minutes and ring you when the call goes through.

Return

Repeat Dialing
Repeat Dialing (also know as Automatic Call Back), continues to try to reach the party whom you've called. If the number you tried to reach is busy then Repeat Dialing continues to try to reach the party for 30 minutes and rings you if the line becomes available within that time.

Return

Call Trace
Also known as *57, this feature allows the tracking of incoming calls. This feature is used when harassing or annoying calls are reported. This featured is activated on a line only with a police report being filed and confirmed by State Telephone. Numbers tracked using this feature are given to a police agency only.

Third Party Notification
Residential customers may choose a third party to receive copies of all notices. A third party may keep your service from being turned off by mistake. You may choose a relative, a friend, a member of the clergy or a community agency to be a "third party" for you if they agree to act on your behalf. A third party will receive copies of any notices we send to you because of overdue bills. The third party can contact us and help you work out payment terms with us. Remember, however, that the third party is NOT responsible for paying bills.

Return

Medical Hardship
If you are unable to pay your bill and a medical hardship exists in your household, we can help you. If you file a medical certificate with us, signed by your doctor or an official of the local board of health, on their official stationery , we will continue your service for 30 days. The certificate can be renewed, but an explanation must accompany the certificate to explain why you are unable to pay your bills. We will not terminate your service during the emergency, but you are still responsible for your bills.

Return

Elderly, Blind, Disabled Customers
If you are 62 years of age or older, blind or disabled, and those living with you are too (or not over 18 years old), we will continue your service for an additional 20 days. We will contact you by phone before the termination date to try to work out a fair payment plan. If you qualify under this protection, you should notify us.
